Beaches of Karpathos

This little paradise has some of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean with crystal clear waters. Hidden everywhere, even though the expanded road network gives better access to a great number of beaches, some of them can still only be reached by boat. Sandy or pebbled, with emerald water or pine-filled mountains, they meet every taste. In the Afiartis area to the south there many beaches are ideal for windsurfing with many windsurfing schools and stations in the area. At the east side of the island most beaches have pebble combined with the pine-filled mountains, whereas on the west side of Karpathos beaches are usually sandy.
